2006 NFL Mock DraftJoseph B. Coaty
Note: Draft order is indicative of the order on February 17, 2006. Trades already completed by NFL teams are reflected in this draft order. I have done my best to make sure all trade information is accurate. However, due to the conditional aspect of some trades, I had to make a best guess with some of the later round traded picks. Please keep in mind that the NFL will add compensatory selections at a later date, which will result in about 30 additional players being selected.
Note: The Miami Dolphins used their fifth round selection in last years supplemental draft to select DT-Manuel Wright.
Note: For players with two positions listed, the first position listed is where they played during the 2005 season and the second position listed is where I project them to play in the NFL. In certain situations I have listed OL, DL or DB. In those situations I think the player is versatile to play any of the positions listed, or the player will begin his NFL career at one position but will end up moving to his natural position later in his college career. The best example of that in this mock would be DBrickashaw Ferguson, who would probably play guard in 2006 if drafted by the Packers but would likely end up playing offensive tackle a few seasons down the road.

Round One:
- 1. Houston Texans Reggie Bush/RB/USC (*)
- When the Texans recently picked up a multi-million dollar option on quarterback David Carr, it gave every indication that they intend to use the number one pick in the 2006 NFL Draft on Reggie Bush.
- 2. New Orleans Saints Matt Leinart/QB/USC
- Aaron Brook really seemed to regress last year, and the Saints are clearly looking to put a new face on the franchise. There is no better way to do that than to draft a highly touted quarterback such as Matt Leinart.
- 3. Tennessee Titans Vince Young/QB/Texas (*)
- Im not convinced that this pick is such a slam-dunk like many others think. I believe Vince Young, DBrickashaw Ferguson and Mario Williams all will carry approximately the same grade when the draft arrives in April. Right now Im projecting Young to this pick, but I wouldnt be shocked to see the Titans select Ferguson if the they feel Steve McNair has a few more good years left in him or if they are confident that Billy Volek is a legitimate NFL starting quarterback.
- 4. New York Jets Mario Williams/DE/North Carolina State (*)
- Chances are slim that John Abraham will be back with the Jets in 2006. And even if he is, he would likely move to an outside linebacker position in Eric Manginis defense. Mangini will look to put a defensive stamp on the team, and obtaining the best defensive player in the 2006 draft would certainly accomplish that. With his size and athletic ability, Mario Williams could become in New York what Richard Seymour became in New England.
- 5. Green Bay Packers DBrickashaw Ferguson/OT-OL/Virginia
- When Ted Thompson drafted Aaron Rodgers in the 2005 NFL Draft, he clearly sent the message that he would prioritize value over immediate need. At this point in the draft, DBrickashaw Ferguson is clearly the best value on the board. And while the Packers have two fine tackles, their offensive guard situation is a mess. A few years back the Baltimore Ravens drafted a tackle named Jonathan Ogden and initially played him at guard because they had two good tackles at the time, and eventually Ogden moved outside and became one of the leagues best at his position. The same thing could happen with Ferguson if he went to a team like the Packers.
- 6. Oakland Raiders A.J. Hawk/OLB/Ohio State
- The Raiders have needed to upgrade the linebacker group for years. Adding A.J. Hawk to last years third round pick Kirk
Morrison gives them an excellent start.
- 7. San Francisco 49ers Haloti Ngata/DT-DL/Oregon (*)
- The 49ers could easily have gone a number of different ways with this selection. I projected Haloti Ngata at this pick because I think his size and quickness gives him the ability to play any of the three spots along the 49ers defensive front. And while the 49ers have some young players at the nose guard position, they could use some more talent and youth at defensive end.
- 8. Buffalo Bills Michael Huff/S-DB/Texas
- The Bills top preference would likely be offensive linemen, but there are no offensive linemen worth taking at this selection. The Bills have some age at safety, and there is a chance that Nate Clements could leave as a free agent. Both of those things make a versatile defensive back like Michael Huff a very attractive candidate with this pick.
- 9. Detroit Lions Chad Greenway/OLB/Iowa
- Towards the end of last season, the Lions were playing with what might have been the slowest group of linebackers in the league. This was probably most evident in the Lions second game against the Packers, where unheralded rookie Sakmon Gado got to the edge several times and gashed the Lions defense to the tune of 171 yards. Chad Greenway brings excellent physical skills to the position, and if Boss Bailey can stay healthy, the Lions would possess two of the most athletic outside linebackers in the NFL.
- 10. Arizona Cardinals Jimmy Williams/CB-DB/Virginia Tech
- The Cardinals selected two defensive backs on the first day of the 2005 NFL Draft, but dont think that would eliminate the possibility of the Cardinals taking a defensive back with their first round pick in this draft. Even with last years additions, the Cardinals still only have five solid NFL defensive backs and one of them (Robert Griffith) probably doesnt have much left in the tank. Jimmy Williams could have an impact as a nickel back immediately, and could be a starter at cornerback or safety down the road. I gave serious consideration to running back DeAngelo Williams at this pick, but the lack of success of ALL the Cardinals running backs might indicate that the running games main problem might be the players up front instead of the players lining up in the backfield.
- 11. St. Louis Rams Vernon Davis/TE/Maryland (*)
- The Rams certainly have had the offensive firepower over the last few years, but rarely have the big plays come from the tight end position. With his superior speed for the position, Vernon Davis gives new head coach Scott Linehan another skilled offensive weapon to work with.
- 12. Cleveland Browns Mathias Kiwanuka/DE-OLB/Boston College
- Mathias Kiwanuka was a top-notch defensive end in college, but his length and athleticism indicates he could become a dominant 3-4 rush backer in the NFL. If Kiwanuka goes to a team like the Browns, dont be surprised if he has a rookie season like Shawne Merriman had in 2005. And the Browns certainly could use help in the pass-rushing department, as they ranked dead last in the NFL in 2005 with only 23 quarterback sacks.
- 13. Baltimore Ravens DeAngelo Williams/RB/Memphis
- Jamal Lewis had a bad year in 2005 and certainly looked to be on the downside of his career. His backup, Chester Taylor, is an unrestricted free agent. Picking DeAngelo Williams would not only fill a huge need, but he also may be the best player available at this point of the draft.
- 14. Philadelphia Eagles Santonio Holmes/WR/Ohio State (*)
- The departure of Terrell Owens means the Eagles will need immediate help at the wide receiver position. Santonio Holmes appears to be the best receiver in this draft and would be an ideal candidate for the Eagles at the 14th selection.
- 15. Atlanta Falcons Tye Hill/CB/Clemson
- When injuries hit the Falcons defensive front seven in 2005, it exposed the defensive backfield for what it waswhich was not very good. The bigger problem is at safety, but there is no safety worth taking at this point of the draft. However, Tye Hill would add immediate depth at cornerback where depth is badly needed and he just might have the talent to work his way into the starting lineup by the end of his rookie season.
- 16. Miami Dolphins Jay Cutler/QB/Vanderbilt
- Jay Cutlers stock was really rising prior to the Senior Bowl, but since it seems to have leveled off and now he seems to be projecting as a mid-first round value. The Dolphins biggest need may be at the quarterback position, so they would love to grab Cutler with this pick.
- 17. Minnesota Vikings Laurence Maroney/RB/Minnesota (*)
- New head coach Brad Childress would probably love to use Michael Bennett as his main running back in 2006, but Bennett has never stayed healthy enough to be relied on. That being said, running back is a huge need for the Vikings. Laurence Maroney and LenDale White currently carry similar grades, but I had the Vikings taking Maroney for two reasons. First, picking the local college player always gets the fans excited, and second, I think Maroney presents a better fit on the artificial surface whereas White might be a better pick on a natural surface.
- 18. Dallas Cowboys Marcus McNeill/OT/Auburn
- The Cowboys really got caught short at the offensive tackle position in 2005 when Flozell Adams got hurt. In my opinion, having to start a rookie tackle plus a tackle that is probably better off at guard pretty much ended the Cowboys playoff hopes in 2005. Bill Parcells must add insurance to this position in order to avoid a repeat occurrence in 2006.
- 19. San Diego Chargers Eric Winston/OT-OL/Miami, Fl
- In just a couple of seasons general manager A.J. Smith has transformed a roster full of holes into a roster with very few holes. Right now the Chargers only major needs are wide receiver and offensive line. While there isnt a receiver worth taking at this selection, offensive tackle Eric Winston has the tools to start inside immediately and he would provide some backup insurance for the important left tackle position.
- 20. Kansas City Chiefs Tamba Hali/DE/Penn State
- Herm Edwards is a defensive coach, and while Kansas Citys defense was improved last season it still wasnt good enough. They did fine against the run, but the pass defense was third worst in the league. Not only did the defensive backfield struggle, but the pass rush was not consistent enough. Jared Allen posted an impressive 11 sacks last year, but Eric Hicks has only posted 14 sacks in the last three seasons combined. Tamba Hali might not project to a 10-sack per season performer in the NFL, but he is a total-effort guy whose attitude could rub off on his teammates and cause this much-maligned defense to finally turn the corner.
- 21. New England Patriots LenDale White/RB/USC (*)
- Corey Dillon may have had 12 rushing touchdowns in 2005 but his 3.5-yard per carry average left a lot to be desired. You have to wonder if Dillon had a down year or if his best days are now behind him. If Dillon doesnt bounce back in 2006, the Patriots dont have another back currently on their roster that could come close to replacing him. LenDale White would give the Patriots another big, tough running back that can carry the load in 2006 if Dillon cannot.
- 22. Denver Broncos (from Washington) Leonard Pope/TE/Georgia (*)
- While Jeb Putzier and Stephen Alexander had nice seasons in 2005, neither of them bring the physical presence to scare the opposing defense. Combined, Putzier and Alexander only managed one touchdown catch during the 2005 season. Leonard Pope is natural mismatch, and he would give the Broncos another dimension to an already
potent offense.
- 23. Tampa Bay Buccaneers DeMeco Ryans/OLB/Alabama
- The Buccaneers had the leagues best defense in 2005, and have some good young talent on the other side of the ball after picking 4 offensive players within the first 107 picks of last years draft. Those two things really opens up their options in the 2006 draft, although they probably would prefer to take a left tackle and a wide receiver as insurance for the aging Joey Galloway. However, the best players on the board at this spot play on the defensive side of the ball. To me, DeMeco Ryans seemed like the best fit. Not only does Ryans present solid value in this area of the draft, but hes a smaller, speedy player who fits the mold of what the Buccaneers have looked for in linebackers over the last decade.
- 24. Cincinnati Bengals Gabe Watson/DT/Michigan
- The Bengals defense created a bunch of turnovers last year, but they gave up a ton of yardage and overall they didnt play at the level that a coach like Marvin Lewis expects. Gabe Watson is probably the most physically gifted defensive tackle in this draft and he can be a one man wrecking crew when hes motivated. If the Bengals draft him, Watson might be the best defensive tackle they have the minute he steps into training camp.
- 25. New York Giants Winston Justice/OT/USC (*)
- The Giants would love to address the defensive backfield with this pick, but there are no defensive backs worth taking in this area of the draft. After that the Giants main priority is to get Eli Manning more comfortable so he can avoid the costly mistakes that he made last year. Kareem McKenzie is a fine right tackle, but the Giants need some help at the left tackle position. Winston Justice was a right tackle in college, but the Giants need left tackle help badly enough that I feel they would gamble and take Justice, hoping that he can successfully make the move to left tackle in the NFL.
- 26. Chicago Bears Marcedes Lewis/TE/UCLA
- The Bears have been looking for a top tight end for years and in Marcedes Lewis they might find their man. An excellent pass-catching threat, Lewis has the size and speed to cause matchup problems and give the Bears offense a dimension that they havent had in years.
- 27. Carolina Panthers Chad Jackson/WR/Florida (*)
- As the Seahawks showed in the playoffs, you can really cause the Panthers offense to stall if you can take Steve Smith out of the football game. Chad Jackson would give the Panthers another weapon and keep the opposing defenses a bit more honest.
- 28. Jacksonville Jaguars Brodrick Bunkley/DT/Florida State
- While the Jaguars have two outstanding starting defensive tackles, they dont have a great deal of depth on the interior of their defensive line. Brodrick Bunkley would give them a nice insurance policy in case either of the two big men would go down with injury.
- 29. Denver Broncos Rodrique Wright/DT/Texas
- Denver could use some depth at defensive tackle and there is a chance that Gerard Warren wont be back with the Broncos in 2006. Wright is a skilled player who looks dominant at times but has never quite seemed to put it all together.
- 30. Indianapolis Colts Max Jean-Gilles/OG/Georgia
- Bill Polian has done a great job of putting the Colts roster together, but over the last few years he has neglected the offensive line and it finally caught up with the Colts in the playoff game against the Steelers. In fact, the Colts have not spent a day one pick on an offensive lineman since 1999 (when they selected the late Brandon Burlsworth in the third round). Max Jean-Gilles is a massive guard that brings a physical presence the Colts offensive line has not seen in some time.
- 31. Seattle Seahawks Alan Zemaitis/CB-DB/Penn State
- The Seahawks have a bunch of offensive skill position players entering free agency, but Im not sure any running back or wide receiver available is worth this selection. One thing Mike Holmgren learned during his time with Ron Wolf in Green Bay is that you can never have too many defensive backs. Alan Zemaitis is coming off a great senior year at Penn State and has the versatility to play several different positions in the defensive backfield.
- 32. Pittsburgh Steelers Ashton Youboty/CB/Ohio State (*)
- Cornerback is a minor need for a team that doesnt have too many needs. Like the Seahawks, the Steelers would probably look to running back or receiver first but there isnt any players available from those positions that would be worth this pick. In Ashton Youboty they get a big corner who was a good college player that possesses the tools to become an even better player down the road.
Round Two:
- 33. Houston Texans Jonathan Scott/OT/Texas
- The Texans have been looking for a left tackle since it became obvious that Tony Bosellis career was over.
- 34. New Orleans Saints Ernie Sims/OLB/Florida State (*)
- The Saints have spent a bunch of day one picks on linebackers over the last five years and so far none of them have worked out.
- 35. New York Jets Bobby Carpenter/OLB/Ohio State
- With the Jets likely switching to a 3-4 defense they will certainly be looking to add a linebacker or two in the draft. Carpenter proved that he could get after the quarterback during his days at Ohio State, and he might be an ideal outside linebacker in a 3-4 defense.
- 36. Green Bay Packers Ko Simpson/S/South Carolina (*)
- Simpson could team up with Nick Collins and give the Packers a solid set of safeties for the next few seasons.
- 37. Oakland Raiders Darnell Bing/S/USC (*)
- Bing would be another piece in the puzzle of rebuilding the Raiders 27th ranked defense.
- 38. San Francisco 49ers Manny Lawson/DE-OLB/North Carolina State
- An undersized defensive end in college, Lawson could be a terror as a rush backer in Mike Nolans 3-4 defense.
- 39. Tennessee Titans Kelly Jennings/CB/Miami, Fl
- They used a first round pick on Pacman Jones in 2005, but the Titans still need more help at the critical cornerback position.
- 40. Detroit Lions Omar Jacobs/QB/Bowling Green (*)
- The only thing that might prevent Matt Millen from making a quarterback pick is that he knows he needs players that can help him win immediately, and rookie quarterbacks generally have a tough time during their first year in the league.
- 41. Arizona Cardinals Davin Joseph/OG/Oklahoma
- A good guard prospect could hopefully upgrade the Cardinals poor running attack from 2005.
- 42. Buffalo Bills Daryn Colledge/OT/Boise State
- The Bills need an upgrade at left tackle and Colledge represents good value in this area of the draft.
- 43. Cleveland Browns DQwell Jackson/ILB/Maryland
- An inside linebacker combination of Jackson and Andra Davis could really solidify the interior of the Browns defense.
- 44. Baltimore Ravens Abdul Hodge/ILB/Iowa
- In addition to the fact that Ray Lewis isnt getting any younger, the Ravens need more bodies at the inside linebacker positions.
- 45. Philadelphia Eagles Thomas Howard/OLB/Texas-El Paso
- Howard is a superb athlete who could play either of the outside linebacker positions.
- 46. St. Louis Rams Nick Mangold/C/Ohio State
- The Rams current center, Andy McCollum, turns 36 years of age in June.
- 47. Atlanta Falcons Joe Klopfenstein/TE/Colorado
- Alge Crumpler is one of the leagues best tigh
t ends, but the Falcons dont have much depth behind him.
- 48. Minnesota Vikings Jason Avant/WR/Michigan
- The Vikings continue to add youth to this group and hope that Nate Burleson will bounce back and Troy Williamson will break out.
- 49. Dallas Cowboys Derek Hagan/WR/Arizona State
- Keyshawn Johnson and Terry Glenn are not getting any younger.
- 50. San Diego Chargers Martin Nance/WR/Miami, OH
- 2006 will be Keenan McCardells 16th season in the NFL.
- 51. Miami Dolphins Claude Wroten/DT/Louisiana State
- The Dolphins current starters at defensive tackle have almost 25 years of NFL experience between them. Pairing Wroten with Manuel Wright could give the Dolphins a solid defensive tackle combination in the future.
- 52. New England Patriots Jeremy Trueblood/OT/Boston College
- The Patriots offensive line struggled in 2005, and Trueblood is the type of tough, hard-nosed player that Bill Belichick seems to love.
- 53. Washington Redskins Sinorice Moss/WR/Miami, Fl
- David Patten only appeared in 9 games and had a disappointing season for the Redskins. Teaming Sinorice with his brother Santana could give the Redskins one of the quickest and most explosive receiving combinations in the league.
- 54. Kansas City Chiefs Orien Harris/DT/Miami, Fl
- The Chiefs have made some major investments in the defensive tackle position over the last few seasons but have never seemed to get that situation sorted out.
- 55. Cincinnati Bengals Kamerion Wimbley/DE/Florida State
- Wimbley projects as one of the better situational pass-rushers in this draft and the Bengals certainly can use help in the pass-rushing department. Last year the Bengals only managed 28 sacks, which put them in the bottom five of the league.
- 56. New York Giants Charles Gordon/WR&CB-CB/Kansas (*)
- Free agency could have an impact on the Giants situation at cornerback, so its likely that they will look to add a cornerback at some point during the draft.
- 57. Chicago Bears Hank Baskett/WR/New Mexico
- Muhsin Muhammad had a hot-and-cold season with the Bears in 2005. Mark Bradley and Bernard Berrian both flashed some potential but the Bears could use a young, physical possession receiver to team up with these two speedsters in the future.
- 58. Carolina Panthers Joseph Addai/RB/Louisiana State
- Stephen Davis probably doesnt have much left in the tank and DeShaun Foster could leave by free agency.
- 59. Tampa Bay Buccaneers Ryan OCallaghan/OT/California
- The Buccaneers need more help at left tackle, but OCallaghan (a natural right tackle) gives them some offensive line depth and could step in if Kenyatta Walker becomes a free agent departure.
- 60. Jacksonville Jaguars DeMario Minter/CB/Georgia
- Journeyman Kenny Wright got the job done in 2005, but the Jaguars could look for an upgrade at the cornerback position.
- 61. Denver Broncos Darryl Tapp/DE/Virginia Tech
- The Broncos defensive ends combined for only 11 sacks in 2005. Tapp had 10 sacks all by himself as a college senior.
- 62. Indianapolis Colts Pat Watkins/S/Florida State
- The Colts have an excellent pair of starting safeties, but they could use better depth at the position.
- 63. Seattle Seahawks Jesse Maholena/DT/Tennessee
- Once again, the Seahawks would probably love to take a wide receiver or running back at this point, but there arent any available that are worth this pick. Defensive tackle is a currently a minor need for the Seahawks, but it will become a much more significant need if Rocky Bernard leaves as a free agent.
- 64. Pittsburgh Steelers Greg Blue/S/Georgia
- Chris Hope might leave as a free agent, and even if he doesnt, top backup Mike Logan will turn 32 years of age during the 2006 season.
Round Three:
- 65. Houston Texans - Babatunde Oshinowo/DT/Stanford
- The Texans used their first two picks to get Reggie Bush and the much needed left tackle, but in switching to a 4-3 defense they also need to make significant investments in rebuilding the front seven. In my opinion, Oshinowo is one of the most underrated prospects in this draft and he could represent a major steal at this selection.
- 66. Houston Texans (from New Orleans) Richard Marshall/CB/Fresno State (*)
- Phillip Buchanon was simply horrible as a Raider and he didnt look much better in his first year as a Texan.
- 67. Green Bay Packers Will Blackmon/WR-CB/Boston College
- Blackmon played wide receiver as a senior but also has an extensive college resume as a cornerback. Blackmon could have an immediate chance of competing with the inconsistent Ahmad Carroll for a starting position.
- 68. Oakland Raiders Devin Hester/RS/Miami, Fl (*)
- The Raiders return game was nothing to write home about in 2005, and everyone knows how much Al Davis loves speed.
- 69. San Francisco 49ers Antonio Cromartie/CB/Florida State (*)
- The 49ers have a nice starting pair at cornerback if Ahmad Plummer stays healthy, but they need to add more depth to this group. Taking Cromartie is a risk because he missed last season due to a knee injury, but from a physical standpoint he probably has more upside than any other cornerback in this draft.
- 70. Buffalo Bills (from Tennessee) Dominique Byrd/TE/USC
- The Bills have a need at this position and Byrd would represent excellent value in this area of the draft.
- 71. New York Jets Charles Spencer/OG/Pittsburgh
- Pete Kendall looks to be on the downside of his career.
- 72. Arizona Cardinals Anthony Fasano/TE/Notre Dame (*)
- As with many positions on the Cardinals roster, tight end could use an upgrade.
- 73. Buffalo Bills Brian Calhoun/RB/Wisconsin (*)
- The Bills could use a better running back to backup Willis McGahee.
- 74. Detroit Lions Jason Allen/S/Tennessee
- Allen represents somewhat of a risk because he suffered a major hip injury during the 2005 season. However, he was carrying a possible round one grade prior to the injury. If he returns to his old form, he could be quite a find for the Lions in this area of the draft.
- 75. New England Patriots (from Baltimore) Kai Parham/ILB/Virginia (*)
- There is no doubting the qualifications of the starters at inside linebacker, but the Patriots would be wise to add some youth to the depth chart.
- 76. Philadelphia Eagles Cedric Griffin/CB/Texas
- Cornerback may not be a huge need area for the Eagles but Griffin represents great value in this area of the draft.
- 77. St. Louis Rams Demetrice Webb/CB/Florida (*)
- The Rams finally get around to addressing a defense that finished 30th in the NFL in 2005.
- 78. Cleveland Browns Demetrius Williams/WR/Oregon
- Even with the addition of last years first round pick Braylon Edwards, the Browns could still use additional help at the wide receiver position.
- 79. Atlanta Falcons Donte Whitner/S/Ohio State (*)
- The Falcons safeties were terrible in 2005 and Whitner would have an excellent chance of starting from day one.
- 80. Dallas Cowboys Rocky McIntosh/OLB-ILB/Miami, Fl
- When you play a 3-4 defense, you can never have enough quality linebackers.
- 81. San Diego
Chargers Andrew Whitworth/OT/Louisiana State
- After taking Eric Winston in the first, the Chargers add another offensive lineman to a group that could use additional depth.
- 82. Miami Dolphins Greg Lee/WR/Pittsburgh (*)
- The Dolphins could use a rookie wide receiver to push Wes Welker for the number three wide receiver role.
- 83. Minnesota Vikings Johnathan Joseph/CB/South Carolina (*)
- If Brian Williams leaves as a free agent, finding a number three cornerback will be a top priority for the Vikings.
- 84. Washington Redskins Elvis Dumervil/DE/Louisville
- With as good as the Redskins defense has been, theyve not generated much of a pass rush from the defensive end position. In 2005 Phillip Daniels had 8 sacks, but the rest of their defensive ends only totaled 3.5 sacks.
- 85. Kansas City Chiefs Daniel Bullocks/S/Nebraska
- The Chiefs continue to address the defensive side of the ball.
- 86. New England Patriots Taitusi Lutui/OG/USC
- The Patriots continue to address an offensive line that caused them some problems in 2005.
- 87. New York Giants Mike Hass/WR/Oregon State
- The Giants need additional depth at wide receiver and Amani Toomer isnt getting any younger.
- 88. Chicago Bears Bernard Pollard/S/Purdue (*)
- Mike Brown has had some injury problems of late and the Bears defense just doesnt seem the same when hes not in there.
- 89. Carolina Panthers A.J. Nicholson/OLB/Florida State
- The Panthers could use some additional depth at outside linebacker, and it could become a bigger need if Will Witherspoon leaves as a free agent.
- 90. Tampa Bay Buccaneers Maurice Drew/RB/UCLA (*)
- With this pick the Buccaneers would pick up a solid all-purpose player that could contribute in a number of ways and also provide a solid backup for Cadillac Williams.
- 91. Cincinnati Bengals Brodie Croyle/QB/Alabama
- If free agent Jon Kitna leaves the organizations, finding a solid backup for Carson Palmer will be a top priority for the Bengals.
- 92. Jacksonville Jaguars Gerris Wilkerson/ILB/Georgia Tech
- The Jaguars have numerous linebackers entering restricted or unrestricted free agency, which would make a player like Wilkerson a very attractive choice for the Jaguars.
- 93. Denver Broncos Jerome Harrison/RB/Washington State
- Mike Anderson will turn 33 years old later this year and Ron Dayne is a free agent.
- 94. Indianapolis Colts Leon Washington/RB/Florida State
- As it stands the Colts could use an extra running back, and if Edgerrin James leaves the acquisition of a running back will become a top priority.
- 95. Seattle Seahawks Maurice Stovall/WR/Notre Dame
- The Seahawks would love to add a player like Stovall to an aging group of wide receivers.
- 96. Pittsburgh Steelers Victor Adeyanju/DE/Indiana
- The Steelers have a couple of defensive ends, including Kimo von Oelhoffen, entering free agency.
Round Four:
- 97. Houston Texans Mark Anderson/DE/Alabama
- 98. New Orleans Saints Dusty Dvoracek/DT/Oklahoma
- 99. Oakland Raiders Jonathan Lewis/DT/Virginia Tech
- 100. San Francisco 49ers Travis Wilson/WR/Oklahoma
- 101. Tennessee Titans Brian Iwuh/OLB/Colorado
- 102. New York Jets Parys Haralson/DE-OLB/Tennessee
- 103. Green Bay Packers Stanley McClover/DE/Auburn (*)
- 104. Buffalo Bills Barry Cofield/DT/Northwestern
- 105. New England Patriots (from Detroit) Anwar Phillips/CB/Penn State
- 106. Arizona Cardinals Tim Jennings/CB/Georgia
- 107. Philadelphia Eagles Tim Day/TE/Oregon
- 108. St. Louis Rams Spencer Havner/OLB/UCLA
- 109. Cleveland Browns Mark Setterstrom/OG/Minnesota
- 110. Baltimore Ravens Will Allen/OG/Texas
- 111. Atlanta Falcons Roman Harper/S/Alabama
- 112. San Diego Chargers Paul Szczesny/ILB/ex-Indiana (*)
- 113. Miami Dolphins Ryan Cook/C/New Mexico
- 114. Minnesota Vikings Brandon Johnson/OLB/Louisville
- 115. Philadelphia Eagles (from Dallas) Fred Matua/OG/USC (*)
- 116. New York Jets (from Kansas City) Charlie Whitehurst/QB/Clemson
- 117. New England Patriots Kyle Williams/DT/Louisiana State
- 118. Denver Broncos (from Washington) Greg Eslinger/C/Minnesota
- 119. Chicago Bears Joe Toledo/OT/Washington
- 120. Carolina Panthers Derek Morris/OT/North Carolina State (*)
- 121. Tampa Bay Buccaneers Todd Watkins/WR/Brigham Young
- 122. Cincinnati Bengals Jason Spitz/OG/Louisville
- 123. New York Giants Reggie McNeal/QB/Texas A&M
- 124. Jacksonville Jaguars Isaac Sowells/OG/Indiana
- 125. Denver Broncos Freddie Roach/ILB/Alabama
- 126. Philadelphia Eagles (from Indianapolis) Eric Henderson/DE/Georgia Tech
- 127. Seattle Seahawks Gerald Riggs, Jr./RB/Tennessee
- 128. Pittsburgh Steelers Greg Jennings/WR/Western Michigan
Round Five:
- 129. Houston Texans Travis Williams/ILB-OLB/Auburn
- 130. New Orleans Saints Derrick Martin/CB/Wyoming (*)
- 131. San Francisco 49ers Jonathan Orr/WR/Wisconsin
- 132. Tennessee Titans Pat Ross/C/Boston College
- 133. New York Jets Darrell Hunter/CB/Miami, OH
- 134. Green Bay Packers Le Kevin Smith/DT/Nebraska
- 135. New England Patriots (from Oakland) Brad Smith/QB/Missouri
- 136. Detroit Lions Jeremy Mincey/DE/Florida
- 137. Arizona Cardinals John McCargo/DT/North Carolina State (*)
- 138. Buffalo Bills Matt Bernstein/FB/Wisconsin
- 139. St. Louis Rams Ray Edwards/DE/Purdue (*)
- 140. Cleveland Browns Julian Jenkins/DE/Stanford
- 141. Baltimore Ravens Gerrick McPhearson/CB/Maryland
- 142. Philadelphia Eagles Garrett Mills/TE-FB/Tulsa
- 143. Atlanta Falcons Tim Dobbins/ILB/Iowa State
- 144. Minnesota Vikings Anthony Smith/S/Syracuse
- 145. Dallas Cowboys Danieal Manning/S/Abilene Christian (*)
- 146. San Diego Chargers Brandon Williams/WR/Wisconsin
- 147. Cleveland Browns (from New England) Adam Stenavich/OT/Michigan
